What It Means If You’re Farting More Than 25 Times a Day

Passing gas is a normal part of digestion, but if you’re farting more than 25 times a day—especially if it’s accompanied by bloating, cramps, or foul odor—it could be your body’s way of telling you something’s wrong.

Excessive gas can be a sign of food intolerances like lactose or gluten sensitivity. It can also point to an imbalance in gut bacteria, known as dysbiosis, or even conditions like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). In some cases, it may be triggered by a high intake of fiber or artificial sweeteners.

If you’ve noticed an increase in gas along with other symptoms like abdominal pain, unexplained weight loss, or changes in your stool, it’s time to consult a healthcare professional. While farting might seem harmless—or even funny—it can sometimes signal deeper digestive issues that shouldn’t be ignored.
