My Nana’s Legendary Ham & Cheese Roll-Ups — The Recipe We’ll Never Let Die 💛

Every Christmas, my Nana would walk into the kitchen before dawn, humming and rolling out tortillas like clockwork. We’d all gather around the counter waiting for those little golden spirals of magic — creamy, cheesy, and somehow perfect every time.

When she passed, I thought the recipe was gone forever… until I found her old, butter-stained notebook. Inside, in faded blue ink, it read: “Aunt Bill’s Roll-Ups — never fail.”

Now, I make them every year for my own family — and yes, they still disappear before dinner even starts.

Here’s how she made them:

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 block (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup diced ham (or turkey)
  • ¼ cup finely chopped green onions or bell pepper
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley
  • Pinch of garlic powder & salt

Spread the cream cheese evenly over each tortilla. Sprinkle the remaining ingredients over the top, roll them up tightly, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Slice into 1-inch rounds — and there it is: the taste of home.

Tip: Serve with a side of ranch or salsa for dipping — Nana always said that’s “where the magic lives.”
