NURSE:
“NO, STOP! I’ll explain everything! In fact… I have to. I can’t keep this a secret anymore.”

FATHER:
“What are you talking about?! Where is my real son?!”

NURSE: (voice trembling)
“There… there was a power outage in the maternity ward right after delivery. For a few minutes, the systems went down… no monitors, no security tags. I was trying to help with multiple deliveries at once… and somehow… I—I must have switched the babies’ cribs by accident.”

MOTHER:
“You what?! Do you understand what you’ve done?! That’s our child!”

OBSTETRICIAN:
“This is serious. Are you saying these aren’t their biological babies?”

NURSE: (nodding, crying)
“We just didn’t know for sure until now. But I noticed this morning that the ID bracelets didn’t match the records. I was trying to fix it before anyone found out… I’m so sorry. I never meant for this to happen.”

FATHER:
“Where’s our actual child then? Where’s my son?!”

NURSE:
“He’s safe. He’s just in the next nursery room. The other family is still here. They haven’t been told yet.”

MOTHER: (furious)
“You BETTER bring him to me right now. And this hospital will be hearing from our lawyer!”

OBSTETRICIAN:
“We’ll launch a full investigation. This is unacceptable, and I promise we’ll make this right.”

(Moments later, another nurse gently brings in a baby boy. The mother’s eyes fill with tears as she instinctively reaches out.)

MOTHER:
“This… this is my son. I knew it. I felt it the second I saw him.”

FATHER: (softly)
“I’m so sorry, little guy. We’re here now. We won’t let anything happen to you again.”

OBSTETRICIAN:
“We’ll arrange DNA testing immediately and provide full documentation for both families. This situation will be handled with absolute care from now on.”

NURSE: (whispers)
“I understand if I lose my job… but I’ll never forgive myself for this.”

MOTHER: (coldly)
“You should’ve thought about that before playing with people’s lives.”
